Wetherspoons has announced it will stop using plastic straws by the end of this year, replacing them with biodegradable paper straws instead.

Wetherspoons is the latest pub chain to ditch platic straws in a bid to going green. These changes are part of an overall commitment from the company to reduce the amount of non-recyclable waste going to landfill. Chief executive John Hutson said, “We believe that Whetherspoon pub-goers will welcome this.” We couldn't agree more. Many businesses are making small changes in a bid to win their customers over - More and more customers are becoming aware of the impact our actions have on the environment, and are basing decisions on where to eat/drink around this, staying more loyal to those businesses who care.
