The FoodSave project is an excellent initiative run by the Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) who Biopac work very closely with to help reduce the amount of waste going into landfill.

FoodSave is a project helping London restaurants reduce their food waste. Since the beginning of the year they have worked with dozens of restaurants and saved them thousands of pounds a year. FoodSave is totally FREE to take part in thanks to funding by the Mayor of London, London Waste and Recycling Board and European Regional Development Fund.

How does it work?

The FoodSave team run a food waste audit for 3-4 weeks using electronic scales and a touch screen tablet which accurately records and analyses the weight and cost of food thrown away from customer’s plates, kitchen spoilage and preparation waste. They then identify the areas where waste is costing you money and work with you to make changes that will reduce the amount of food thrown away - on average they have achieved a 26% cost reduction. All of this takes minimal time for your team and is totally integrated with your operations. You’ll find a neat animation explaining how it works as well as full details about how you can get involved on their website

FoodSave is available on a first come first served basis and places are filling up fast, so to take advantage call the team now on 020 7479 4226 or email

An advance on the "Doggy Bag"

Branded 'Too Good To Waste', Biopac has recently launched a new range of compostable food boxes and bags to encourage diners to take their leftovers home to enjoy later. Actively supported by the SRA, this is another way for restaurants to reduce the amount of food thrown away. For more information on our 'Too Good to Waste' range, click here.
