Deliveroo has announced that it will begin to trial electric scooters in London next year, in a bid to support the capital to reduce noise and air pollution.

Initially, the meal delivery company has said its riders in the capital will be able to rent electric-powered scooters and bikes "at a reduced cost compared to market price". In Spring, Deliveroo plans to launch 300 Deliveroo-branded electric bikes which will be made available to cyclists to speed up delivery times.

This is great news for residents in London - They will not only enjoy quicker delivery times, but this new initiative by Deliveroo will also be supporting the capital to reduce noise and air pollution next year.

This follows an announcment by Sadiq Khan that a £4.5 million investment will result in 1,500 new charging points across the capital in 2018, making it even easier for people to go green and run an electric vehicle.
